Frilled Lizard Probably the most colourful and spectacular of the Australian lizards, the frilled lizard has developed amazing survival tactics of surprise and bluff. It flees at high speed on its hind legs but suddenly turns on its foe, flaring the frill around his neck which explodes him into a shape four times larger, surprising the predators.
